Mr. Jose Manuel Gonzalez, age 67, a resident of Horatio, Arkansas, died Tuesday, January 2, 2018, in Wadley Regional Medical Center in Texarkana, Texas.
He was born August 3, 1950, in Zacatecas, Mexico. He was a barber and a member of the St. Barbara Catholic Church. Mr. Gonzalez enjoyed cookouts with his family, cutting hair, traveling and raising peppers in his garden. He loved spending time with his family especially his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mr. Gonzalez was preceded in death by his parents, Rafael Gonzalez and Maria Nungaray and eleven brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Maria Bertha Munoz; one son and daughter-in-law, Victor Hugo and Gloria Munoz of Horatio; four granddaughters, Lupita, Karla, Karen and Samantha Munoz; one grandson, Luis Salgado; four greatgrandchildren, Diego, Jr., Pablo and Vicente; four brothers, Juan Gonzalez, Pedro Gonzalez, Julian Gonzalez and Jesus Gonzalez; four sisters, Guadalupe Gonzalez, Elisa Gonzalez, Ma. Angeles Gonzalez and Ma. Isabel Gonzalez and a number of nieces and nephews.
A vigil service including the Holy Rosary will begin at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, January 4th in the Monsignor Scott Friend Pastor Center in De Queen.
Funeral Mass for Mr. Gonzalez will be held at 2:30 p.m., Friday, January 5, 2018, in the Monsignor Scott Friend Pastor Center at St. Barbara Catholic Church with Father Juan Manjarrez officiating. Burial will follow in Horatio Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.
