Mrs. Agnes Shaw Runnels Nix, age 96, a resident of Lockesburg, Arkansas, died Sunday, January 7, 2018, at her home.
 
She was born on August 15, 1921, in Bethel, Oklahoma. Mrs. Nix was a retired LPN and a member of the Nix Chapel Church.
 
Mrs. Nix was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Martha Crain Shaw; one brother, eight sisters, two daughters, Faye Mobbs Brewer and Charlene Friend; two husbands, Charlie Runnels and Carroll Nix and two grandsons, Tim Mobbs and Michael McGough.
 
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Ray and Lavern Runnels and Dean and Ann Runnels all of Lockesburg; one daughter and son-in-law, Martie and Bennie Griffin of De Queen; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
 
Funeral services for Mrs. Agnes Nix will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 10, 2018, at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Sam Hendrix officiating.  Burial will follow in the Old Center Cemetery.
 
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 9th at the funeral home.

Ms. Agnes was such a precious lady. This world is a better place because of her smile, her Christian spirit, and how she cared for others. May God surround her family and friends with His love and healing.

so very sorry to hear about Agnes, I wish I could have had one more conversation with her. She was a sweet lady and God blessed her with a long life and a good mind. I know she will be missed by all. May God comfort you all as you say goodbye for now to be united again someday

Heaven can stand at attention. Agnes has arrived and is awaiting her hugs. She always told me that she came in for her love hugs, and there were plenty to go around. Loved this lady like my own grandma. Prayers for all the family and know that she is with those who have been waiting for her.

Martie & Family,
Mrs. Agnes was an awesome, sweet and loving lady. I always enjoyed her smiling face coming through our office door. She was a true sweetheart and I loved her very much. She will be missed by all for sure. Heaven has gained an awesome Angel.
